L'Olonnais The Notorious (d. 1667)
He eats the hearts
And plucks the eyes,
The monster too scary
For his own crew.
He hides among the dead
With sand and blood
Across his eyes,
His face a death mask
On Holloween.
When death is the treat
But his trick
Is survival.
This poem will appear in the upcoming collection Pirate Eulogies
