Most Everyone Else

I just realized,
while looking to my right,
across the room
through the patio door
and out over the courtyard
in my dingy apartment complex,
that everyone wants
to be Chuck Klosterman.

And that's ok,
for most of them
writing a witty line
comparing the Rolling Stones
to Bob Dylan
or The Black Eyed Peas
and then tying it to a bad
love relationship they had
while in college
will be the best thing
they will ever put to paper.
